Culinary Center. Recreational cooking and baking, basic cooking. New York

Culinary Arts, top cooking school

Culinary Center of New York, Culinary Arts program, is a top culinary school and recreational cooking school in New York City. Whether you are an aspiring chef, pastry chef, baker, food stylist, caterer, personal chef, cake decorator, chocolatier, restaurant manager or owner, our short intensive and relatively inexpensive professional-level Master Courses in cooking, baking, cake decorating, healthy cooking, sushi, French cooking, Italian cooking, and restaurant management will jump-start your culinary career. More than 100 hands-on Recreational Cooking and Baking Classes open to all include cooking 101, basic techniques of cooking, Italian cooking, French cooking, Asian cooking, baking, and food and wine classes. Saturday Business Workshops in how to open a restaurant and other food businesses are offered; by our Institute for Culinary Entrepreneurship—as are Culinary Walking Tours, and classes Backstage at the Great Restaurants of New York. Set up your own Corporate or Private Cooking Class.

Our style is warm and welcoming, with the goal of providing the best learning experience in a non-intimidating atmosphere. Our instructors are working professionals (chefs, cookbook writers, culinary authorities) who have no starch in their jackets, and all of our hands-on cooking and baking courses are limited to 12 students. Furthermore, most courses conclude with a complete meal served with wine. This school emphasizes quality, not quantity. Small class size. Welcoming facility. We directed The New School Culinary Arts program from 1987-2007.

Please explore our program possibilities and your culinary goals, and come cook with us.
